Mechatronic Design
9th Semester
Mechatronics is the science – technology that allows the design of machines and devices that integrate mechanical, electrical and computer technology elements as an integral part from the beginning. The aim of the course is to give students the opportunity to do just that on a build of their choice. It is a “completion of knowledge” course that is achieved through the students’ effort to analyze, design, simulate and finally implement a Mechatronic system or device of their choice. Students work in groups under the supervision and guidance of their professors. Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to be able to design, implement and control small and medium scale Mechatronic systems.
Required knowledge: Microcontroller Technology and Applications, Automatic Control Systems, Sensors and Measurement Systems, Advanced Programming.
